SHORT BIO (~ 50 words)
Svani Parekh is a children’s TV writer and book author who’s worked with Netflix, Cartoon Network, Sesame Street, BBC, Disney and on the Emmy-nominated, Annie Award winning series ‘Ghee Happy’. She’s also published several short stories, authored two books with Oxford Children’s Books, and written for gaming studios like Ubisoft.
LONG BIO (~ 100 words)
Svani Parekh is a screenwriter and author whose work spans TV, books, digital media, gaming and audio. She’s written stories and scripts for Netflix, the BBC, Sesame Street, Cartoon Network and Disney. She’s also published two books with Oxford Children’s Books, was Creative Head on a STEAM audio fiction project, and currently works as a Game Writer at Ubisoft. She co-created the TV series “Yom: The Yoga Action Hero,” which was picked up by Disney, and was also scriptwriter and lyricist on “Ghee Happy,” which was nominated for an Emmy and won the Annie Award for Best Preschool Series. Having grown up in both Nigeria and India, Svani is drawn to stories about finding one’s identity and community across a diverse world.
